Kia ora koutou, The public agenda for the upcoming RDA Steering Committee meeting has been posed on the RSC website: http://rda-rsc.org/node/726 First, there are three proposals that will be discussed: * RSC/RSCSecretary/2022/2 - Proposal to correct the terms “multipart monograph” and “serial” * RSC/RSCSecretary/2022/3 - Proposal to adjust instructions in four “restriction on” elements in Manifestation and Item * RSC/RSCSecretary/2022/4 - Proposal to amend and clarify instructions in Manifestation “place of” elements If you have any comments or feedback about any of these proposals please do send them on to ORDAC to incorporate into our regional response by Friday 14 October. All comments will be welcome – please send directly to me: anoushka.mcguire(a)dia.govt.nz<mailto:anoushka.mcguire@dia.govt.nz> Second, this meeting will be a mix of online Zoom calls and asynchronous discussions and these three proposals will be discussed at a Zoom call that will be open to observers. This call will be on Thursday 20 October at 1900 UTC/GMT which works out to be Friday 21 October at 0800 NZ time. Details of how to register are at the link above. National Library of New Zealand Policy Statements available in the new RDA Toolkit

Tēnā koutou/Greetings to you all, The National Library of New Zealand has reached a significant milestone in its implementation of the new RDA Toolkit by loading a test set of Policy Statements to the RDA Toolkit. Following the September 2022 release, these are now visible at https://access.rdatoolkit.org/<https://aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Faccess.rd…>. Where are the Policy Statements? You can explore our Policy Statements in the Toolkit via the link in the Policies tab or by selecting ‘NLNZ PS’ from the menu at the top right of any of the element pages. If the NLNZ Policy Statements don’t appear in the list, you may have to update the settings in your Views. What Policy Statements are included? As this is a test, we have only loaded a small set of the total Policy Statements that we have completed. We have loaded Policy Statements for the Manifestation entity only, including 350 Manifestation elements. This is a total of 2232 individual Policy Statements. Our aim is to have Policy Statements at every element in the RDA Toolkit plus at all options on Entity and Guidance pages. If you don’t see any Policy Statements on a page, it simply means we didn’t include them for this test load. What about supporting documentation? Throughout the NLNZ Policy Statements you’ll see references to the NLNZ Guidance. This is a document to support cataloguers to use the NLNZ Policy Statements in conjunction with the RDA Toolkit, similar to the Metadata Guidance Documentation<https://aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.loc.g…> produced by the Library of Congress and Program for Co-operative Cataloguing (LC-PCC). Right now the link is pointing to a temporary document<https://aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Faccess.rd…> in the RDA Toolkit. The NLNZ guidance will be made available later, together with other supporting documentation and the NLNZ Application Profile. This is really exciting, where can I find out more information?
