On behalf of CatSIG, Bibliographic Services, National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa and Te Rōpu Whakahau I invite you to attend a seminar on Māori Subject Headings and their use in resource description.
This is the first time such a seminar has been held and will introduce valuable new knowledge to all those involved in the description and care of Māori material. An extensive knowledge of Te Reo is not required.
The programme will cover:
Introduction to Ngā Upoko Tukutuku/Māori Subject Headings
Cataloguing Māori language materials
Assigning terms from Ngā Upoko Tukutuku
Assigning terms from the Iwi/Hapu names list
You are welcome to bring examples of problems or issues to discuss.
All the seminars will begin at 9.15 a.m. and finish at approximately 4 p.m.
Morning and afternoon tea, and lunch will be provided.
There is no cost for the seminars.
Places are limited so an early response would be beneficial.
