Project Zero

Climate change is an existential crisis for modern society. We need massive social change to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. The goal of Project Zero is to help reduce our climate impact to zero. This project looks at how we can use our expertise in Gameful Design and App development to help people achieve there design to minimize their impact on the environment. This is inline with the NZ Governments drive to be Carbon Neurtal by 2050.

This project has started with

• Apps for gamification of electrical use as part of Bachelor of Engineering Honours ENGR489
  • Working with Flick Electrical's API to gamify electrical use.
• User Interface Design SWEN303 project for developing interfaces for minimizing energy use and reducing carbon footprint
  • Energy App designing an interface to reduce energy use
  • Carbon Footprint designing an interface for reducing carbon emissions

Victoria University of Wellington Activities

Victoria University of Wellington is actively working on climate change issues:

• Carbon footprint Victoria is trying to reduce its emissions
• Environmental Studies Expert researchers working on Climate Change Mitigation and Urban Sustainability
• Renewable Energy Research including a new Science major in Renewable Energy
