Research Interests

My main area of research is artificial intelligence with a focus on image/data analysis. At the moment my research is actively involved with:

  • Image segmentation
  • Noisy image segmentation
  • Image denoising
  • Medical image processing
  • Detection tasks

I received my BE and ME in electrical engineering in Iran in 2006 and 2009 respectively, and my PhD in computer science from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2017. I did a postdoc in 2017 and as of August 2017, I am a teaching fellow in the School of Engineering and Computer Science. I served as a part-time lecturer from 2007-2013 for several universities in Iran from which I received a number of research grants. I have also a background in industry as an electronic designer, microcontroller programmer, and CCTV sales/technical support.
