Biography

Ferry Hendrikx is a PhD student at the School of Engineering and Computer Science, Victoria University of Wellington. His research interests include distributed, peer-to-peer and reputation systems. Outside of his studies, Ferry is a self-employed ICT Consultant with 15 years experience. He works mainly for Government agencies and private companies in Wellington, New Zealand.

Ferry has almost completed a (part-time) doctorate at Victoria University of Wellington, where his thesis is about developing distributed information gathering systems, with a particular focus on "recommendation" information. These systems allow for the collection of wide-ranging reputation information about individuals (or services) from diverse sources and allow for the utilisation of this information in decision making. His recent publications have looked at using recommendation information for access control and web service composition.
