Abstract

Victoria University of Wellington's School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) warmly invites industry partners to our first information-sharing event.

The ECS is excited to announce that we have a new process for assigning our Engineering and Computer Science students to industry-proposed projects as part of their fourth year Honours programmes. We will also explain the process for proposing other types of student research projects, such as summer scholarships and postgraduate research projects.

This year, we are confident that our new method of mutual feedback between industry partners and students will be a success and we expect a larger number of proposals to be chosen by students through this new transparent process.

We would particularly like to hear from organisations whose projects were not allocated in the past to participate again this year under the improved arrangement.

The event will include a short talk by Professor Winston Seah, Professor of Network Engineering, and another by Dr Ramesh Rayudu, an ECS senior lecturer.

We are excited to explain our research, as well as how to engage with ECS and students; what to expect from a project partnership; and how to work successfully with Victoria University and, more specifically, with ECS.

This event is in preparation for our second event, where we will invite you to pitch project ideas to our students.
