Abstract

Recent years, with the boom of VR/AR, more and more people enjoy watching stereoscopic media for the immersive viewing experiences. The fast development of portable camera and cell phones makes it easy to capture stereoscopic images and videos. Thus, it becomes more and more urgent to analyze and manipulate these stereoscopic contents in an intuitive and efficient way. Unlike the traditional 2D media, stereoscopic images/videos are taken by stereo cameras, and people feel the depth from the disparities in image/video pairs. In general, the naïve extension of 2D media processing methods to the left and right views of the 3D media may break the disparity consistency, and cause visual discomfort. In this talk, we introduce our recent works on Stereoscopic Image Analysis and Editing, which includes: stereo saliency detection, stereo composition, and stitching.
