Textbook: C. Horstmann, Object-Oriented Design & Patterns, Second Edition, Wiley.
Prescription: This course builds a deeper understanding of software design in an Object-Oriented Language (Java). Students learn the art of developing well-designed programs from scratch. Fundamental topics include the Unified Modelling Language (UML), Design Patterns, and the principles of good Object-Oriented design. Students further develop practical skills through a series of implementation projects that challenge their understanding of what it means to develop software.
