Biography

I work as a UNIX system engineer for the School of Engineering and Computer Science. In past lives I have tutored third year operating systems and networking courses, taught professional development courses in distributed systems and the TCP/IP networking protocols and provided system administration and networking consulting services for local industry. I have also been employed as a systems and network administrator in the United Kingdom.

My professional interests include

  • networking (protocols and higher level services),
  • distributed computing, and
  • operating systems (particularly open source systems such as NetBSD)
