Prospective Students

PhD Scholarships are available for a number of research projects in Physical Layer wireless communications with the Communications Research Group at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Successful applicants will work as part of an active research team, publish in leading journals and conferences and collaborate internationally.

Research Topics The available research topics fall within the general area of 5G wireless systems, including - modelling performance of analysis of 5G wireless communication systems - receiver and transmitter algorithms for Massive MIMO/mmWave systems - channel modelling for mmWave systems

Required Qualifications Applicants should hold a research Masters degree in Mathematics or Electrical Engineering. Strong background in mathematics and statistics is essential. A GPA of 8/9 is required.

Stipend Three year PhD scholarships provide an annual tax-free stipend of NZD 23,000 in addition to covering the cost of university fees. Note that conference travel funding is also available.
