Wireless communication systems are currently designed with the aim of optimizing the data throughput, while largely neglecting the rapidly increasing energy consumed by such networks.The project will examine methods of optimizing the system-wide energy consumption in such systems. The holistic, system-wide approach will be used to study the following:

1. Fundamental Limits of Energy Efficiency.
2. Cost of Energy Efficiency
3. Unified QoS Framework
