Length: 2000-3000 words
Weight: 35% This assignment will be in the form of a case study on ethical dilemmas in engineering. The assignment description and a full marking schedule is available in the PDF version of the assignment: Assignment 1 (PDF).
Assignment 2Due Date: 24 May by 24:00 (midnight)
Weight: 35% This assignment is a case study on one of the topics covered in the course to this point. Please see the Assignment 2 (PDF).
Individual Oral PresentationSession Date: Exam Period
Venue: Exam Period Friday, June 28 ( Parallel sessions in AM102/104 9am-5pm)
Length: 12 minutes total
Weight: 30% This is an oral presentation, which could be on the subject of either of your assignments or (rarely) could be on another topic. Please refer to the instructions and marking schedule (PDF) for details. Oral presentation sessions will run in parallel all-day. Presenters are expected to attend for the duration of their session. Sessions will run 08:30-10:30, 10:30-12:30, 13:00-15:00 and 15:00-17:00. A sign-up sheet for slots within the presentation sessions will be made available closer to the assessment date. Anyone in the class who will have difficulties attending their scheduled presentation time should contact the Course Coordinator Craig Watterson <Craig.Watterson@vuw.ac.nz> as soon as possible. Please note that the ENGR 401 presentations are not an examination and consequently will not be listed in the the central university examination timetable, available from the Timetables page or myVictoria accounts.
